About Paul

Excerpt from the preface of his recent artbook:

Paul (...) specializes in landscapes, bird and flower painting, as well as calligraphy. His landscapes are vast and majestic, usually done with paint as base and slightly overlaid with pastel to enrich the colors and bring out a wide variety of scenery. His birds are beautiful and lifelike, and his flowers are always full of life. It is worth mentioning that Paul has a special affinity for orchids. His backyard is filled with them, and of course, his paintings of them are always especially lively and vivid. Nearly every year, he has paintings up at the annual Orchid festival in Orange County and offers live painting as well.

Paul is a cheerful and amiable person, and is involved in many community activities; he often holds exhibitions and sales for charity and to spread appreciation for Chinese art and culture. In addition to the United States, he has also held exhibits in Canada, the United Kingdom, and China. Wherever he goes, Paul’s work has always received high praise.

Paul’s work could be considered one of the highest forms of conversation, capturing aspects of Chinese culture and his own life experiences on canvas. He attributes his ability to succeed to the support of his family members; as he says, “I was able to concentrate on painting and calligraphy because behind the scenes, there was my loving wife and her full support, encouragement, and wonderful home cooking. And of course, the active support of my children was invaluable to my efforts as well.” And now, Paul’s publication of these hundred works is indeed a monumental occasion. These few pieces of his many works both embody his accomplishments and serve to enrich and spread Chinese culture to their viewers.

Congratulations on your success, Paul!
